Paul Andrew "Andy" Richter (born October 28, 1966) is an American comedian and actor. He is best known for his sidekick role on Late Night with Conan O'Brien between 1993 and 2000, which he has continued on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (2009 to 2010) and Conan from 2010 to 2021. He voices Bessie's younger brother, Benjamin "Ben" Higgenbottom, on The Mighty B!.
Career[]
He is also known for his work with the Madagascar children's films (providing the voice of Mort), and for the short-lived sitcoms, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Quintuplets and Andy Barker P.I.[1] Richter has had recurring roles on the live action series The New Adventures of Old Christine, Arrested Development and Santa Clarita Diet, and has provided his voice for Crank Yankers, China, IL, The Stinky & Dirty Show and American Dad! in addition to Big Hero 6: The Series.
Richter has appeared in the following films: Cabin Boy (1994), The Thin Pink Line (1998), Dr. Dolittle 2 (2001), Elf (2003) and Girlfriend's Day (2017). He reprised the role of Mort in The Penguins of Madagascar: Dr. Blowhole Returns – Again! (2011), his sole video game role to date.
His former wife, Sarah Thyre, provided the voice of Mary Frances Gibbons on The Mighty B!. Regarding his involvement with the series, Richter stated he was "really proud to be a part of it."[2]
