Catatonic Song is a song from the episode with the same name. Sung by an amnesiac Bessie, it was written by Jonny Cragg and Kenyon Phillips, with Unisex Salon providing the music and Amy Poehler serving as vocalist.[1]

The song was released shortly before the episode to promote it as a music video, though it has since been removed from Nickelodeon's website. Source for the lyrics:[2]

Lyrics

Verse 1:
They say a cat has nine lives
But I
Wish I had more
I never could empathize
Til I
Was on all fours

So don't let me cross your path
Unless
You want trouble
Thoguht it was all such a laugh
Til I
Woke up and realized all I could
do was meow and hiss and cuddle

Chorus:
In my suit of fur
I can only purr
Feels like a tomb
Here in my costume

In my suit of fur
I can only purr
Feels like a tomb
Hope I get out soon

Ooh la la la
Ooh la la la
Ooh la la la
Ooh I'm I'm a feline

Ooh la la la
Ooh la la la
Ooh la la la
Ooh I'm I'm a feline

Verse 2:
I guess the cat got my tongue
Cuz I
Can't say nothing
I thought that this would be fun
Or cool
Or something

I used to land on my feet
Cuz I
Was in control
But now my life ain't so sweet
Cuz I
Woke up and realized I had
a hairball the size of Istanbul

Chorus:
In my suit of fur
I can only purr
Feels like a tomb
Here in my costume

In my suit of fur
I can only purr
Feels like a tomb
Hope I get out soon

Ooh la la la
Ooh la la la
Ooh la la la
Ooh I'm I'm a feline

Ooh la la la
Ooh la la la
Ooh la la la
Ooh I'm I'm a feline

Ooh la la la

Trivia

  • The song is also played during the end credits for "Catatonic," as opposed to the usual Boys and Girls; We're the Sugarboys is the only other song to hold this distinction.
