Chester Turtleton is Millie's pet turtle. He is featured in the episode, "Mr. Turtleton's Wild Ride", and made his first appearance in "Hat Trick."

He and Millie have a close relationship, which is put to the test in "Mr. Turtleton's Wild Ride" after he forms a bond with Bessie and Happy.

Chester occasionally appears in other episodes, such as "Bee Plus One." He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voices Happy.[1]

Personality[]

Mirroring Bessie and Happy's close friendship, Millie and Chester are practically inseparable, both playing black in checkers and with Millie giving him bugs to eat as a treat when he's on his best behavior. The two frequently bunny kiss, though Chester will sometimes bite her nose instead.

There are, however, disagreements between the two; for example, Millie mentions in "Irritable Bowling Syndrome" they fought over whether he should wear a sweater (Millie's preferred choice) or a cardigan (what Chester wanted to wear). Millie was also willing to deface Chester's shell if it meant getting revenge on Bessie in "Stuffed Happens."

Chester is the central focus of the episode "Mr. Turtleton's Wild Ride," wherein Bessie looks after him in Millie's absence. However, he enjoys life in the Higgenbottom's home[2] and refuses to return to his owner, much to Millie's sadness.

After seeing how hectic life is at the Higgenbottom's, he misses Millie, especially when he hears her sing about him from across the street. In the end, he returns to the Millerson household and is Millie's pet once more.

Physical appearance[]

In the first season, Chester was a black turtle with a red shell. However, he was redesigned in season 2, now a dark green turtle with a lighter green shell. He was also given three black hairs on his head. Chester has yellow sclera and orange eyes, though his eye color is brown in closeups.
