Kenan Thompson (born May 10, 1978) is an American actor and comedian. He got started in entertainment as a child actor, performing on All That between 1994 and 1999. His popularity on the show resulted in him and Kel Mitchell having their own show, Kenan & Kel from 1996 to 2000, playing Kenan Rockmore. As an adult, Thompson joined Saturday Night Live in 2003, and has remained there since. He became the show's longest tenured cast member in 2017.
Career[]
His other work as an actor includes playing Junior in The Steve Harvey Show (1996 to 1998), DeForrest Ingram in Felicity (2001), MC French in Off Centre (2002) and Roland in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2016 to 2019). Thompson starred in the sitcom Kenan from 2021 to 2022.
In film, Thompson has portrayed Russ in The Mighty Ducks franchise (1994 to 1996), Roy in Heavyweights (1995), Dexter Reed in Good Burger (1997), Kenard in Barbershop 2: Back in Business (2004), Troy in Snakes on a Plane (2006), Teddy in They Came Together (2014) and Keith Schonfeld in Going in Style (2017).
Starting in the 2010s, Kenan began voice acting for feature films, playing Greedy Smurf in The Smurfs franchise (2011 to 2013), Mr. Bricklebaum in The Grinch (2018), Gus in Wonder Park (2019) and Tiny Diamond in Trolls World Tour (2020).
On The Mighty B!, Thompson provided the voice of Rocky Rhodes. It was his first notable voice role, later voicing Sue Sezno in Sit Down, Shut Up (2009), Impresario in The Awesomes (2013 to 2015) and Ronald in Nature Cat (2015 to 2017).
