Manuel Luis Gonzales del Carmen (nickname "Louie"; born August 19, 1967) is a storyboard artist and director in the animation industry. On The Mighty B!, he storyboarded five episodes. His brother, Ronnie del Carmen, also works in animation.


del Carmen, a native of Cavite City, Philippines,[1] graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 1985 with a commercial arts degree. He later went to the College of Architecture and Fine Arts.[2]

He entered the animation industry in 1996, working on Aaahh!!! Real Monsters and Quack Pack. By the late 1990s del Carmen was an employee at Klasky-Csupo, storyboarding episodes of Rugrats, The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald and Rocket Power.

On Invader Zim, del Carmen served as the show's storyboard supervisor, a position he would later hold on The Mighty B!.[3] Throughout the 2000s, he worked on Lilo & Stitch: The Series, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and Drawn Together.

Near the end of the 2000s, he shifted his focus from animated series to feature films,[4] working as a story artist on Megamind. del Carmen continued as a story artist on Kung Fu Panda 2, The Croods, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Frozen II.
