The Mighty B! Wiki

What do you think, I'm stupid?

Splint Gruntler is a talk show host, known for The Splint Gruntler Show. On it, he expresses his distaste for puppies and dogs while often finishing his sentences with "What do you think, I'm stupid?" Splint is only seen in "What's the Frequency Bessie?"

He is shown to be very firm and stubborn about his beliefs, retaining them even after being told their drawbacks. Splint's show seems to have quite a following, as marathons are often seen on television.

Splint gets a comeuppance of sorts for his controversial and harsh stances at the end of the episode. He is voiced by Matt Besser.

From the start, it is apparent Splint has an intense dislike of dogs, talking about how they make messes and calling one who caused a marital dispute between rednecks "a homewrecker." He goes so far as to say they "are taking [one's] job."

At the music auditorium, his views are further revealed through Bessie, who unbeknownst to her and the audience (save for Ben), are unaware her tooth filling is the cause of this. They include his supporting dolphins on tuna, claiming "fish [were] meant for eating." This draws the ire of the audience.

After stating dogs are "lower" than dolphins, he gets into a rant about and makes fun of small cars, even saying "the bigger, the better." An audience member tells Bessie they are detrimental to the environment, with Splint making a statement against such.

Splint, who is in the audience, agrees with his own views, stating "she's got a point." The audience has finally had enough and get their pitchforks ready while throwing tomatoes at Bessie. Ben saves the day by having Bug take over and making Bessie copy their singing.

The concert ends with Bessie's tooth filling escaping and hitting Splint, who loses a tooth after getting back up. The concert goers applaud this.

Additionally, the ensembles have a white collar, two different kinds of ties (green with blue stripes and blue with a lighter blue pattern). Finally, he wears black and brown pants with black shoes.

  • His name and talk show references Jerry Springer and his talk show, known for its outrageous guests. However, his beliefs are based moreso on Conservative pundits.
